Review into alcohol advertising restrictions in Free TV Code

This submission to the Australian Communications and Media Authority’s review into alcohol advertising restrictions in the Free TV Code highlights that the existing Free TV Code does not provide appropriate community safeguards and allows extensive exposure to alcohol advertising, including during high-audience viewing periods such as sport and evening programming.

We call on the Australian Communications and Media Authority to replace the existing industry code with a robust program standard that prioritises public health and community wellbeing over commercial interests.
